"A collaboration between artist and Architects"
During my internship at J.O.N.G architecten I got the opportunity to work with Grytsje Schaaf, visual artist and poet to design and develop an Art installation. We asked her to create a new concept for an already existing styrofoam cube. Grytsje came up with the idea to cover the inside of the cube with gold. I then thought of the materials we could use and how we could put the cube together. Below you can see the result of when ideas from different people come together as one.
We placed the cube so that it would embrace the original columns of the historic stock exchange building in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands.
As you can see here we gave the columns a golden reflection to show our appreciation for the historic building.
